The story of how the Nissan GT-R ended up participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans is quite curious, as it owes much to the support of the Nissan Nismo GT-R Fan Club. In fact, before the program was officially launched, the presentation photos of the Nismo R33 featured a livery with Nissan's classic red and blue, but also with the Club Le Mans GT-R logos. This is precisely the livery that this decal sheet allows you to recreate, the one worn by the first R33 GT-R used for the photos and the car's initial testing. A unique car, whose original livery eventually evolved into the one worn by car number 22, bearing the slogan "Keep the dream alive" in gratitude to all its fans, who made Nissan's return to Le Mans possible, and even had some of its members integrated into the team as mechanics, translators, and even doctors.

By the mid-1990s, things had changed dramatically in the world of motorsports. In 1995, Nissan was about to launch the GT-R version of the R33 generation Skyline GT-R. That same year, a campaign began to see the new R33 GT-R compete in the world's greatest endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This campaign was driven not only by Jiro Adachi (former president of NISMO) and Kunihiro Kakimoto (NISMO ambassador), but also by Nissan Nismo GT-R fans.

Driven by the desire to see the R33 GT-R at Le Mans with NISMO, an organization called the "Le Mans GT-R Club" was created to support the project and the idea of NISMO bringing the GT-R to Le Mans. This effort included not only merchandising but also the direct involvement of club members, who joined the NISMO team as staff or even as members of the mechanics team. Nearly 10,000 fans embraced the idea and supported the initiative, which became a reality in 1995 with a three-year plan to see the GT-R LM at the top of the Circuit de la Sarthe. Car number #22 sports the "Keep the Dream Alive" logos on both sides of its bodywork, in recognition of the passion and effort of the Le Mans GT-R Club fans.

This R33 GT-R, a tribute to the Le Mans Club, was built with a different configuration than the pink car with the number 23 (450 hp Group N engine and H-pattern gearbox), but it finished the 1995 race in 10th place overall and 5th in its class, ahead of number #23. A dream come true!
