Lack of development, low power compared to the competition from its Hart V8 engine, and unreliability hampered the Footwork team during the 1997 season, achieving a single point throughout the year thanks to Jos Verstappen's sixth place in the Argentine Grand Prix, the third round of the season. The history of this Brazilian manufacturer is a curious one. A great lover of Formula 1, its founder was initially a simple collector looking to complete his model collection with those that other manufacturers were reluctant to release. Little by little, the number of models grew, as did the interest of other modelers in their models, which ultimately led to the birth of Wolf Kits. For those unfamiliar with the brand, all Wolf Kits models are Formula 1 cars at 1/20 scale and are made using traditional resin and white metal casting, also including photo-etched parts and decals.
