The Porsche 911 Turbo (Type 930) was produced from 1974 to 1989. The 930 was for years the fastest mass-produced sports car, and will also go down in history as the first turbocharged production sports car. Early versions of the 930 were powered by a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with a single KKK turbocharger with K-Jetronic injection that produced 260 hp (245 hp for US market cars).

Although the original purpose of the 930 was to obtain FIA homologation for Group 4 races, in which Porsche entered with the 934, the production versions were luxuriously equipped, with a long list of unusual standard equipment for the time, including air conditioning , full leather interior, rear windshield wipers, headlight washers and stereo system, among other elements, which was complemented by a whole series of options, including an electric sunroof.

Compared to the other versions of the Porsche 911, the 930 Turbo was widened by about 50mm, adding to its powerful stance, and a front and rear wing was added to increase driving stability and reduce buoyancy. The rear spoiler not only increased downforce on the rear axle, but also helped improve engine cooling.

In 1978, the second generation of the Porsche 930 appeared, benefiting from significant improvements, including better suspension and brakes, a reinforced 4-speed gearbox, as well as a 3.3-liter engine that reaches up to 300 hp. The 930 achieves a top speed of 260 km/h and takes just 5.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.

The Turbo name quickly became synonymous with high performance, albeit performance that demanded the talent of an experienced driver. The 930 Turbo was an incredibly fast car that could easily punish those who did not approach it skillfully and respectfully, which only increased its myth and appeal.
