Without a doubt, we believe that the model chosen by Italeri is great news for many rally enthusiasts. Using entirely new molds, Italeri has developed a scale model kit of one of the most successful rally cars of all time, which established Lancia as a top brand in the rally scene. The chosen version is perhaps the most famous, having achieved victory in the 1972 Monte Carlo Rally, with the equally legendary Sandro Munari at the wheel. And for even greater detail, the kit also allows for the reproduction of the Fulvia's characteristic
1.6-liter V4 engine in perfect detail. In addition,
a photo-etched sheet is included, with details such as the front grille, the air intake grille on the hood, and the hood latches.

The Lancia Fulvia model, the third model to be launched under a feminine name after the Flaminia and Flavia, appeared in various versions to replace the already outdated Appia. The Coupé Rallye HF model was a true “all-front”, with the V4 engine with double carburettor and the gearbox mounted in that position in front of the cockpit. Despite being a front-wheel drive car, the Lancia Fulvia HF 1600 Group 4 car, homologated on 1 October 1969 to replace the Fulvia 1.3 Coupé HF, went on to dominate the World Rally Championship, winning several races with drivers such as Sandro Munari. With the Fulvia, Lancia created its iconic racing team, the HF (High Fidelity) Squadra Corsa, with the legendary chief mechanic Cesare Fiorio.
The ultimate evolution of the Lancia Fulvia Coupé, the 1600 HF Fanalone, came with a 1.584 cc engine generating 115 bhp in road version, increasing to 165 bhp in rally version. The Lancia factory team used the 1600 HF constantly between 1969 and 1974, taking seven European Championship victories in 1970, six more in 1971 and seven more in 1972, winning the World Rally Championship for Makes in 1972. The Fulvia HF also helped Lancia secure a new manufacturers’ title in 1974, where Lancia also fielded the Stratos and Beta Coupé models. As for the drivers, both Harry Källström in 1969 and Sandro Munari in 1972 became European Rally Champions at the wheel, a time when the World Drivers' Championship did not yet exist.
The Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF made a significant contribution to establishing Lancia's reputation on the rally scene, and paved the way for other legendary Lancia models such as the Stratos, the Rally 037 or the Delta Integrale. By the time production of the Lancia Fulvia ended in 1973, a total of 3.690 units of the 1600 HF Stradale (for road use) had been produced, with a further 1.258 units built to rally specifications.
