Tamiya re-edits its Porsche 962C kit, taking the opportunity to incorporate a new and striking decoration, corresponding to the one used by the Brun team in the 200 miles of Norisring, the sixth round of the 1987 World Sports Prototype Championship. This kit maintains the particularity that both the
front windshield and the side windows are moulded integrated into the body, so a set of
masks is included to protect them when painting the rest of the body. The
decals on the kit are produced by Cartograf, a synonym for print quality and ease of placement.

The Porsche 962 (also known as the 962C due to its homologation as a Group C car) was the prototype built by Porsche as a replacement for the 956, and designed primarily to comply with the GTP regulations of the American IMSA championship. Porsche took advantage of the modifications and also entered the 962 in European Group C events as the 956 had done. The 962C was introduced in late 1984, and quickly became a winner in the hands of numerous privateer teams, particularly in very long-distance events, remaining competitive until the mid-1990s.
