Limited-time reissue of another of Tamiya's classic references. This special version of the Honda City Turbo also includes a driver figure and the parts needed to assemble the Motocompo scooter. The contents of the kit have been updated, eliminating the electric motor from those included in the original reference, and revising the decals and assembly manual, as well as including masks for painting the windows.

The City was born in the early 80s as Honda's answer to the needs of urban traffic in Japan, with cars getting smaller and smaller... in fact, the City measured only 3.4 metres. But what nobody expected was that someone would come up with the idea of equipping the small Japanese compact with a turbocharger, and that with the mere weight of the car of 700 kilos, they turned the City Turbo into a real bomb capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 in just 8.6 seconds, something that very few cars of the time were capable of achieving.
The person responsible for this idea was Hirotoshi Honda, who was not only the son of the founder of the company, but had also founded Mugen, which from its origins would create some of the most radical Hondas that have ever existed. And what was initially going to be a preparation, ended up becoming a production version marketed by Honda itself.
The City's engine was a 1237 cc four-cylinder, which with the turbo reached a power of 100 hp at 5,000 rpm. In addition to the turbocharger, the engine included an aluminium and titanium alloy cylinder head and a magnesium valve cover to reduce weight, and had electronic fuel injection, being the first Honda vehicle to be equipped with this. The body of the Honda City Turbo would also undergo changes, being easily identifiable by its bulge above the front hood. In addition, a front bumper with air deflector and fog lights, an asymmetric grille, and a spoiler on the rear door were added. The interior featured sports seats, a new digital dashboard and a three-spoke steering wheel.
Another curiosity was that, as an option, the City could come with a small moped designed to fit in its trunk. This scooter was the Honda Motocompo, which when folded had dimensions of 90 cm long, 30 cm wide and 60 cm high, and weighed approximately 40 kg. Its single-cylinder, two-stroke engine, with a displacement of 49 cubic centimeters, developed 2.5 horsepower.
The combination of a small car and motorcycle made the ideal pair for urban traffic, Honda's idea being that, if the driver aboard his Honda found himself in a traffic jam, he would park his vehicle on the outskirts and travel to his destination on the Motocompo, and on his way back he would put the folded motorcycle back in the trunk, something relatively easy to do thanks to its low weight.
