Knowing that Pocher has partnered with Pagani is great news, and even more so if it means that car fans can build the incredible engineering masterpiece that is the Pagani Utopia Coupé to scale. And, what's more, in a very special colour, the
Rinascimento Lucido, the one chosen for its world premiere. With
more than 556 parts, to which we should add more than 200 screws, this kit has been made with the same meticulousness and quality of materials as the original model. Its powerful V12 engine, its elegant interior or its aerodynamic bodywork, everything has been developed with the utmost detail for the enjoyment of the modeller. Logically, both the doors and the front and rear hoods open, revealing the interior of the car. What a delight!

After more than six years of development, where Horacio Pagani, the founder of the brand that bears his name, challenged his team to create a new vehicle that embodied three key qualities: simplicity, lightness and pure driving pleasure, the successor to the Pagani Huayra was born. We are talking about the Pagani Utopia. And to clarify, the name of the model does not have an accent on the “i”. The name chosen for this engineering marvel is a tribute to the English writer and theologian Thomas More, who in 1516 wrote the book Utopia, from which the term “utopian” was born, which began to be used to describe an “unattainable perfection”.
The style that Pagani imprints on its models is also present in the Utopia, with design elements such as the central exhaust pipes positioned like rocket propellers, the raised rear fins and the central design of the rear cover in the shape of a boat tail. But it also features new design trends, such as the bridge spoiler that connects the two rear fins, or the taillights that seem to be suspended in the air and are inspired by jet turbines.
To power the Utopia, the Mercedes-AMG V12 engine is used as a base, but built expressly and exclusively for Pagani. An engine with two turbochargers that produces 864 hp and 1.100 Nm of torque between 2.800 and 5.900 rpm, and you can choose between a single-clutch automatic gearbox (the dual-clutch box was ruled out for weight reasons) or, for old-school drivers, a seven-speed manual transmission. An engine that exudes beauty and where you can appreciate an incredible work of engineering and technology.
Its central structure is not far behind. Made of carbon and titanium, it guarantees both strength and lightness. With a claimed dry weight of just 1.270kg, the Utopia Coupé is 102kg lighter than the Huayra Roadster.
Inside, the Utopia has swapped the Huayra’s large central touchscreen for a larger digital display between the speedometer and rev counter. But the real eye-catcher in the cabin is the chrome gear-knob that’s recessed into the centre tunnel.
Production of the Utopia Coupé has been limited to just 99 units, each meticulously crafted at Pagani’s San Cesario sul Panaro factory in the Modena region of Italy. The price tag is a whopping €2.2 million.
