The Mercedes W196R was one of the first single-seaters to dominate Formula 1, with two world championships to its name, both with Juan Manuel Fangio at the wheel. In the 1955 season, Mercedes fielded a second car for Stirling Moss, with which he won the Grand Prix of his country held at the Aintree circuit. It is now possible to assemble this historic vehicle in great detail, with a kit containing no less than 451 parts, of which 114 are metal, all of them pre-painted and ready to be assembled. Once assembled, the front bonnet can be lifted, revealing its impressive 8-cylinder in-line direct injection engine, a true engineering marvel for its time. In addition, the model allows you to reproduce the sound of the engine. These are limited units, so don't miss out!

The Mercedes-Benz W196 R was designed by Rudolf Uhlenhaut and Fritz Nallinger. Its aerodynamic shape allowed it to reach high speeds. Fourteen units of the W196 R were built, including the prototype. Starting with the European Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, the car was replaced by a version with independent wheels, also known as a monoposto. Technically, the car was manufactured to the highest standards of its time and featured, for example, a tubular space frame, a torsion bar suspension, an articulated swing axle and turbo-cooled double drum brakes. The 290 hp cars were driven by Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss. In the twelve Grand Prix races they took part, these two drivers achieved no less than nine victories between them.
