In 1980, during the Geneva Motor Show, the German automobile manufacturer from Ingolstadt presented its new two-door coupe, the Audi Quattro. Produced throughout the 80s, its Italian name highlights its main characteristic: four-wheel drive. At the time, all-wheel drive in a vehicle intended to generate high sales figures was an important innovation. The “Quattro” guaranteed good performance combined with excellent road behaviour on any type of surface. The longitudinal front engine was capable of offering remarkable performance. Starting with the Quattro, a competition version was developed for rallying, which debuted in 1981, achieving incredible results and changing rallying forever. The success of the “Quattro” continues to this day, to the point that that Italian word has become a true “brand” with which the entire range of Audi four-wheel drive vehicles continues to be identified. .
