Due to its huge dimensions and special packaging, this product is sent "as is" in its own factory sealed box, so it can't be combined with other products in the same shipment. If you wish to order any additional products, please place two separate orders, one with just this product, and a second one with the rest of the items you want to purchase.
Products in preorder status can be bought at SpotModel before arrival to our warehouse. For doing so, just place an order at SpotModel as usual including the products in preorder, and proceed to checkout. You will be charged full price at the end of the checkout process, since those unit/s will be efectively substracted on arrival from the units for sale to every other customer. We do provide an estimated date of arrival for these products, but please note that this date can change due to changes in their manufacturer schedules or release dates, which is totally beyond our control. Once stock arrives at SpotModel, pre-orders will be dispatched in strict purchase date order.
Would you like to build a faithful replica of the iconic Porsche 917K, winner of the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans? And what would you think if once assembled it had a length of 55 cm and a weight of almost 6 kilos? Well, you can do this with this kit from Ixo Collections, with no less than
839 pieces, of which
158 are metal, all of them
pre-painted and ready to be assembled. And if this is not enough, the kit allows elements such as the
lights to be functional, mounting the electrical installation almost as in the real car, and has
sound functions for both the engine and the horn. What more could you want?

The 1970 Le Mans race was a race of attrition. Only 7 of the 51 participants reached the finish line. Five of the seven registered Porsche 917s retired, but the remaining two crossed the finish line first and second. The guys from Zuffenhausen finally got their long-awaited win on the Sarthe circuit. The winners: Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood. They started the race conservatively, successfully surviving heavy rain and other adversity and won by a five-lap margin over Gerard Larrousse and Willi Kauhsen.
As a curiosity, after 27 years as a Porsche driver, and while they were traveling for his participation in Le Mans, Hans Herrmann promised his wife that he would retire if he won... and at the end of the race he kept his word. He then confessed that he had started thinking about withdrawal some time ago. "It was clear to me that I would retire at the end of 1970, but I had not told anyone."
