The M/S Mercantic was built in 1964 by HC Christensens Staalskibsværft, Marstal, Denmark, commissioned by Per Henriksen, and was the first ship of the Mercandia shipping line. It had a length of 48.01 m, a beam of 9.10 m, and a draft of 3.33 m. Its main engine was a B&W/Alpha 405-24VO with a power of 425 HP (313 KW), reaching a speed of 10 knots. The M/S Mercantic was a traditional freighter and its type was very common between the 1960s and 1990s. The M/S Mercantic was sold and renamed several times. In 2004 it was sold to the Wade Group, Portsmouth, Dominican Republic, and renamed “Love Divine”. Finally, the ship ran aground on August 22, 2012 in the Antilles and declared CTL (constructive total loss). Once assembled, the boat measures approximately 96 cm long, 18 cm wide and 36 cm high.
