GP Modeling has just surprised us with its new reference. A complete and detailed engine designed specifically for the
1/24 scale kits of the
Peterbilt 377 and 378 series trucks. The transkit, made up of more than 30 parts, is printed with 3D technology and the parts are supplied with their printing support. Also included is a
decal sheet (not pre-cut) that reproduces the service labels for the various components. The
engine version reproduced in this transkit is the
12.7 liter (although the external dimensions of the engine block are practically the same as those of the 14 liter engine) in DDEC IV (Detroit Diesel Electronic Control) configuration, which bears the plate
alternator and air conditioning compressor support on the right side (standardized version since 2002). There's no excuse for leaving your Peterbilt's engine cover open!
Additional details for the
Peterbilt Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine:
The Detroit Diesel Series 60 is a six-cylinder inline diesel engine produced between 1987 and 2011. The most used versions in the road transport sector are the 12.7 litre and the 14 litre (the latter introduced in 2001). The Series 60 engines were revolutionary at the time of their launch thanks to their electronic control system, being the first time it was used in engines intended for road transport vehicles.
