The 1995 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was quite special, and not only because of the fact that 80% of the grid was made up of cars from the GT1 and GT2 categories, but mainly because of the rain, which completely changed the race development. And under these circumstances the feat of the McLaren F1 GTR was achieved, a GT1 category car that was capable of winning the 24 hours. To date, this remains McLaren's first and only victory in the legendary Sarthe race.
