This kit includes the usual Model Factory Hiro parts list in this scale, and once assembled, it allows you to see all the details of the interior and the mechanical part thanks to its openable front and rear hoods. The rims, intake trumpets, exhaust outlet and headlights are made of turned aluminium. Other details include tires with pre-painted manufacturer's markings. A delight for the modeller!

Mario Colucci, the engineer in charge of designing the Fiat Abarth 1000 SP, began working for Abarth in 1960 with the assignment of designing a light and powerful Sport Prototype with covered wheels, two-seater and spider-type bodywork. Thus was born the first Fiat Abarth Sport Spider with a tubular steel frame and central engine, but the turning point came in 1966 with the project, signed as SE04, of the Fiat Abarth 1000 SP, where the number 1000 indicates the engine displacement in centimetres cubic and SP are the acronym for Sport Prototype. A car designed using solutions simple and economical enough to make it accessible to any private driver or team, for whom the 1000 SP is mainly intended.
It had a 4-cylinder in-line gasoline engine with double overhead camshafts and a displacement of 982 cc, which, fed by 2 double-body Weber 40DCOE carburettors, delivered a power of 105 HP at 8,000 rpm. With an empty weight of only 480 kg, thanks to its light chassis and its polyurethane and fiberglass body, the Abarth 1000 SP exceeded 220 km/h.
The Abarth 1000 SP is used by the official Abarth team as a means of advertising vehicle to promote the car among potential private clients, and although at first the small 1000 SP has to be entered in the category in which they compete Formula cars and unique models to be able to race, the difference with the competition was not overwhelming at all. The first important success occurred on September 4, 1966 in the 500 km of Nürburgring, where the Abarth 1000 SP driven by Müller and Steinmetz won the 1000 category, also finishing in third position in the general classification. After this victory, another Abarth 1000 SP wins the 1000 category in the Aosta-Pila hill-climb, an event valid for the Italian Hill-Climb Championship. These successes helped Abarth to receive the first firm orders, and in March 1968, having reached 50 examples produced, the Abarth 1000 SP was able to obtain Group 4 Sport/Class 1000 homologation.
Benefiting from numerous evolutions and transformations, the Abarth 1000 SP continued competing for more than a decade, obtaining numerous successes and class victories, giving private drivers much satisfaction.
