Beautiful kit of the even more beautiful Brabham BT52 as it took part in the Monaco Grand Prix in 1983, where Nelson Piquet finished in
second place, while Riccardo Patrese had to retire. At the end of the season, Piquet won his second drivers' title. A very complete kit with
extensive number of parts, including its powerful
BMW M12 Turbo 4-cylinder inline engine with a displacement of only 1.5 litres. Don't miss it!!

The Brabham BT52, designed for the Brabham team by Gordon Murray, was the single-seater used by Brabham during the 1983 F1 season. The car was fitted with Michelin tires. Its drivers were Nelson Piquet, the 1981 World Champion, and Riccardo Patrese.
Following the ban on ground-effect cars at the end of the previous season, the FIA required all F1 cars to be designed with a flat floor for safety reasons. The sidepods, crucial in the previous generation of ground-effect cars, now generated lift rather than suction, so the BT52 featured short, angular sidepods to minimize lift. The car featured a distinctive dart-shaped profile and an oversized rear wing to try to recover as much downforce as possible. The monocoque was constructed from an aluminum and carbon fiber composite to minimize weight. The car was powered by the extremely powerful turbocharged BMW M12/13 engine, which in 1983 produced around 850 hp (630 kW) during qualifying, reduced to around 600 hp (450 kW) for the race.
In the 1983 season, refueling stops were reintroduced in F1 following the successful experiments of 1982. The BT52's fuel system was designed with this in mind and featured a small fuel tank located high behind the driver.
The car was easy to drive, and Nelson Piquet made the most of it that season. Battling with Alain Prost in the Renault and René Arnoux in the Ferrari, it looked like he would lose the title after a poor run of form mid-season. But after fuel supplier Castrol developed a special batch of fuel and further improvements were made to the car, he became the first driver to win the World Championship with a turbo engine, winning three races and consistently scoring points. Brabham finished third in the Constructors' Championship.
Following the Canadian Grand Prix, the BT52 was upgraded to the BT52B and won three of the remaining seven races of the season.

Beemax Model Kits was born as a brand specializing in 1/24 scale competition cars, both rally and circuit. Later it was renamed to Nunu, so their references are gradually being marketed under the new brand, but without losing an ounce of their quality!
