This is a completely new project that required the creation of a
new mold for the Firestone tires used in the 1969 season. This Ferrari was characterized by the aerodynamically shaped
rear fairing radiator equipped with two side fins and the now classic
“spaghetti” exhausts, that were made famous by these Ferraris from the late 1960s.
Additional details for the
Ferrari 312 F1 car scale model kit:
The 1969 season was the worst for the Ferrari 312, since in the whole season they only managed seven points, which represented a negative record for Ferrari. After Jacky Ickx joined the Brabham team, the fate of the team was entrusted to Chris Amon who, in turn, left the team mid-season because he was fed up with his Ferrari's lack of competitiveness, being replaced by Pedro Rodriguez. At the British Grand Prix held at Silverstone, and in an attempt to improve performance, Ferrari implemented, only for Amon's car, a rear radiator fairing with an aerodynamic shape and equipped with two side wings as a spoiler, something never seen before. It was an excellent styling exercise as the competitiveness of the car did not change. In Maranello, however, the development of the car had already stopped to focus all efforts on the car for the following season, the wonderful 312 B.
