In the last round of the 1986 World Rally Championship, which would also be the last in which Gr.B's were allowed, only one official Delta S4 was entered in the race, with the particularity that for commercial reasons in the USA, the usual Martini and Lancia Martini logos were replaced by those of
Martini&Rossi. This special decoration has been recreated by Reji, being also the
winning vehicle of the rally.

The last round of the 1986 World Rally Championship was held in the northwestern part of the United States even with the uncertainty of the final decision on the results of the San Remo Rally, with the exclusion of the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo II still in the air. This caused the two contenders for the title to be entered in the rally, Alen at the wheel of his Lancia S4 and Kankkunen with his Peugeot 205 T16 Evo II, both as the only representatives of their respective brands, at least from the works teams. After the dispute over the stages, Alen won the rally with an advantage of more than three minutes over Kankkunen, who throughout the rally had some problems with the alternator and various punctures, which initially caused Alen to become world rally champion. Said title lasted eleven days, which took FISA, with Jean-Marie Balestre at the helm, to annul the results of the San Remo rally, so Alen's victory in said rally did not count for the championship classification, and passing the title at the hands of Juha Kankkunen. A more than controversial ending in what was a season of power to power between Peugeot and Lancia.
