Additional details for the
Bugatti EB110 car scale model kit:
It was the year 1991 when the Bugatti EB 110 was presented in the Italian city of Modena, a superlative sports vehicle that impressed with its sophisticated technology and spectacular design. With this high-performance vehicle, the Italian car manufacturer emulates the legendary cars of Ettore Bugatti, who before the Second World War had made history with models such as the Royale or the Type 57. But after the death of its founder in 1947, the brand went through financial difficulties, until in 1960 the last Bugatti left the Molsheim factory.
Almost thirty years later, the brand was founded again in Modena, beginning the development of a sports car in whose development technicians from Ferrari and Lamborghini collaborate. The birth of the Bugatti EB110 was underway, which benefited from the talents of engineer Paolo Stanzani and designer Marcello Gandini, who had previously created such iconic models as the Lamborghini Countach. And that was even reflected in some concept similarities, such as the mid-positioned short-stroke V12 engine with the front-mounted gearbox. But from there, the Bugatti incorporated a whole series of innovations that put it at the head of the supercars of the time.
In order to save weight, the chassis of the Bugatti EB 110 is manufactured by Aérospatiale in carbon fibre, while the body is made of aluminium. The 12-cylinder V engine with a displacement of 3.5 litters has cylinder heads with 5 valves per cylinder, has four turbochargers and an intercooler, delivering a power of 542 HP, catapulting the EB110 from 0 to 100 km/h in less than four seconds on its way to 343 km/h top speed. And to transmit all that power to the ground, a custom-made six-speed gearbox and four-wheel drive.
The EB110 also surprised by being a well-built product that had a spacious and luxuriously equipped interior, making it a very capable and comfortable mile-eater. The data indicate that, between 1992 and 1995, 102 units of the EB110 GT model (17 experimental cars + 84 production cars) and 38 of the SS variant (4 experimental, 4 racing + 30 production cars) were built, for a total 140 Bugatti EB110 of all types.
