Suzuki revolutionized the landscape of street motorcycles when it launched the Suzuki GSX-R 750 in March 1985. It was practically a registrable race bike, which was inspired by the endurance GS1000R that defended the Suzuki colors on circuits all over the world. It had an aluminum perimeter chassis weighing only 8.1 kg and multi-adjustable suspensions. As far as the engine is concerned, this was a four-cylinder, 16-valve engine with SACS (Suzuki Advanced Cooling System) air-oil cooling system, flat-door Mikuni carburetors, six-speed gearbox and hydraulic clutch. The final power amounted to 100 hp, which together with a low empty weight of 176 kg, made the performance of the first level. In 1986 the GSX-R got a 25mm longer swingarm to make it less twitchy, and a second version called the RR appeared. Already in 1987 a larger diameter fork and other small tweaks were incorporated.
