A 1978 Tour de Corse rally with only 10 stages... how short, some might say! It may be, but if we analyze better the route and distance of the stages, the shortest was 25 km, but the two longest were practically 100 kilometers long! And on the narrow Corsican roads! A race in which the Fiat squad and its 131 Abarths took the podium, with Bernard Darniche the winner, ahead of Andruet and the great Sandro Murani, on his last podium in the world rally championship.
Our protagonist, Jean-Pierre Manzagol, had to retire at the fourth stage due to a problem in the differential of his Alpine.
