The Renault R25 is the name given to the car that the Renault team used in the 2005 season in the Formula One World Championship. The chassis design team, made up of Bob Bell, James Allison, Tim Densham and Dino Toso, it was supervised by Pat Symonds as Executive Director of Engineering, while Bernard Dudot led the design of the V10 engine.

During the season, the R25 proved to be slightly slower than the McLaren MP4-20 in pure speed, with a total of victories of 10 to 8 in favour of McLaren, but its greater reliability and consistency allowed, with Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella as the driver duo, the R25 took the drivers' and constructors' championships in 2005, the first titles for any French-licensed racing car since the triumph of the Matra MS80 in 1969.

In the 19 races of which the 2005 season consisted, the R25 achieved a total of 191 points, with 8 victories and 15 podiums, being out of the points only twice. Specify that this data does not include the United States Grand Prix, where both Renault drivers, like the rest of the teams riding Michelin tires, retired before starting.

Another curiosity about the R25 is that it was also the last Renault Formula One car to use a 6-speed gearbox before the use of a 7-speed gearbox became mandatory the following season.

Michelin also owes a lot to the R25, since thanks to it Michelin won its first title since its return to Formula One, winning the title again with Renault and the R26 the following year, in what is the last crown for the French tire manufacturer.
