In 1992 Doug Polen won his second consecutive world title with a special model of the Ducati 888, equipped with carbon brake discs and carbon fiber silencers. Throughout the season, Doug Polen managed to win 9 races, while his teammate Giancarlo Falappa, who finished fourth in the championship, managed to win another four races. With these results, it is not surprising that Ducati prevailed with authority in the Constructors' Championship.
