With the proven quality of Tamiya products, this kit allows you to assemble the Yamaha YZF-R1 super sports bike, which was presented at the Milan Show in 1997. The kit faithfully reproduces the sculptural lines of the real bike, as well as the mechanical parts, chassis and suspensions. As usual with Tamiya, various cables and vinyl pipes are included to reproduce the cooling or brake circuits. Among the parts are those necessary to be able to assemble a stand to hold the bike, as well as a rear tail cover to assemble the version without a rear seat.

Paints recommended by Tamiya / SpotModel for this product:
Yamaha designers created this original supersport class motorcycle using an innovative philosophy. Every part was designed and engineered to achieve the best performance with the lowest possible weight. Its 998cc inline four-cylinder engine with 5 valves per cylinder delivered 150 hp. To regulate power delivery, the EXUP system was used, capable of using data from the digital ignition system to adjust the exhaust pipe, adjusting the gas flow for optimum results at all times. The engine is mounted on a Deltabox II aluminium chassis, with a wheelbase of 1,395 mm, and incorporating an extra-long 582 mm swing arm, which provides agile handling without compromising stability or traction. The front braking system uses 4-piston monobloc calipers, weighing only 135 grams each, and 298 mm floating discs. The rear brake uses a 2-piston caliper and a 245 mm disc. Without a doubt, the Yamaha YZF-R1 is a surprising machine that promises a very high level of performance.
SpotModel recommends this product exclusively for experienced professional modellers and collectors. Take appropriate precautions as this product is not a toy, it can be toxic and/or dangerous. Keep away from children. Use is not allowed for children under 14 years.
