The Shadow DN8 made its debut at the 1976 Dutch Grand Prix, with very promising results. Driven by Tom Pryce, it qualified third and finished fourth. This first version of the Shadow DN8 is characterized by its short, triangular sidepods. The scale model kit, from the This Way Up catalog, is extremely detailed, including the engine and other mechanical parts. The body, chassis, and various mechanical components are cast in white metal, complemented by an extensive photo-etched sheet for the smaller, flatter parts.
