205 GTI

205 GTI
In March 1984, Peugeot presented at the Geneva Motor Show the model that, a few months later, would become the king of popular sports cars internationally: we are talking about the Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6.

For all of us who love the iconic vehicles in motoring history, Heller has created a complete scale model kit from scratch, which not only allows you to assemble the phase 1 version of the 205 GTI 1.9, but also allows you to recreate its engine and interior, which will be on full display because, unlike what is usual at 1/24 scale, the doors come prepared to be opened, as does the front hood.

The first supply of the scale model kit has just arrived, and we immediately opened one of the boxes to check the contents. It looks really good: a wide range of parts, excellent detail, a comprehensive color manual, and all at a very reasonable price. Which means the boss has already run out with three boxes under his arm...

What are you waiting for to get yours at SpotModel?

Another iconic vehicle that was a reference among small GTIs. Heller has created a complete kit from zero, which will not only allow you to build the phase 1 version of the 205 GTI 1.9, but will also allow you to reproduce its engine and interior, which will be visible, since, unlike what is usual in 1/24 scale, the doors come prepared to be opened, as does the front hood. The 1979 Formula One season began in Argentina at the Buenos Aires circuit, and McLaren presented its M28. Although the final result was acceptable, with John Watson taking the third step of the podium, the car fell short of expectations, losing performance compared to the other teams throughout the season, with McLaren unable to solve the car's problems. This scale model kit is designed as a curbside model, with the complete bodywork made of resin, accompanied by numerous white metal parts for the rims, cockpit, suspension, gearbox, and other mechanical elements. Added to this is the complete decal sheet and a sheet of photo-etched parts.

Without a doubt, we believe that the model chosen by Italeri is great news for many rally enthusiasts. Using entirely new molds, Italeri has developed a scale model kit of one of the most successful rally cars of all time, which established Lancia as a top brand in the rally scene. The chosen version is perhaps the most famous, having achieved victory in the 1972 Monte Carlo Rally, with the equally legendary Sandro Munari at the wheel. And for even greater detail, the kit also allows for the reproduction of the Fulvia's characteristic 1.6-liter V4 engine in perfect detail. In addition, a photo-etched sheet is included, with details such as the front grille, the air intake grille on the hood, and the hood latches.

The use of solvent-based paints softens the resin from which the stencil is made, so the fine details of some of the lettering may come undone and disappear.

In the 1970s, before the invention of pneumatic jacks and modern wheeled carts, moving an F1 car with its enormous tires was a nearly impossible task. That's why it became common to mount much narrower wheels, sometimes even completely metal, on the cars to move them around the paddock or pit lane. These types of wheels were also used to configure the setup and perform precise alignment, both in toe-in and camber. Stone Models has 3D-printed the dummy wheel sets used on Lotus cars from the late 1970s, such as the Lotus 78 and 79, to scale. They are ideal for creating a diorama recreating the car's preparation in the pit lane.
