Beta Montecarlo Turbo

Beta Montecarlo Turbo
The most veteran of us still remember when, in 1979, the now-defunct Esci brand launched the 1/24 scale model of the Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo with the Alitalia livery and the Giro d'Italia number plates. Years later, it was reissued with two other liveries, and since then, we've only been able to access this model by digging deep in the complicated second-hand market.

Well, once again our prayers have borne fruit and Heller has rescued the old Esci molds and made a new plastic injection, this time with the livery of the Jolly Club team during their participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1981. Great news indeed!!! The first units are expected to arrive at the SpotModel warehouse before Christmas. :D

To top it all off, Decalcas has already announced an upgrade set and several liveries that will be available early next year; Reji has also joined the bandwagon with a livery, and Komakai has secretly told us that they are preparing two photograph books to be able to build the model with complete historical accuracy and great detail. :)

The classic scale models are back at SpotModel!!!

After skipping the first race of the season, Arrows entered a single Arrows Ford FA1, driven by Riccardo Patrese, in the 1978 Brazilian Grand Prix, held at the Jacarepagua circuit. In this race, the team was not yet sponsored by Warsteiner, and instead displayed an all-white body, sponsored by the Brazilian airline Varig. In a race marked by a high number of retirements, Riccardo Patrese achieved a creditable tenth place. The kit includes greater detail than other models from the same manufacturer, allowing partial disassembly into several pieces of the upper body and the nose, exposing the cockpit, the front end with the radiator and the entire rear section with the Cosworth engine. The body is made of resin, accompanied by numerous white metal parts for the rims, cockpit elements, suspensions and other mechanical parts. These include the Cosworth engine, which is fully assembled and visible, and the gearbox. The kit is completed with the decal sheet and a photo-etched plate.

His next outing, aboard his golden Hesketh, was at the Italian Grand Prix held at Monza, where he again managed to finish the race, this time in ninth place. This reference, which reproduces the version used at Monza, includes greater detail than other kits from the same manufacturer, allowing partial disassembly into several pieces of the upper body and the nose, revealing the cockpit, the front end with the radiator, and the entire rear section with the Cosworth DFV V8 engine. Many Formula 1 constructors have never achieved a victory, but in Hesketh's case, he achieved his first (and only) victory on his tenth start, and it was also the first for future World Champion James Hunt. This happened in 1975 at the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. A race marked by heavy rain at the start and with the track gradually drying out, Hunt withstood the pressure from Lauda for over 20 laps to achieve victory. This reference includes greater detail than other kits from the same manufacturer, allowing partial disassembly into several pieces of the upper body and the nose, revealing the cockpit, the front end with the radiator, and the entire rear section with the Cosworth DFV V8 engine. The body is made of resin, accompanied by numerous white metal parts for the rims, cockpit elements, suspensions and other mechanical elements. Among these, the Cosworth engine, which is fully assembled and visible, and the gearbox stand out. The scale model kit is completed with a decal sheet and a sheet of photo-etched parts.

The modest ATS team, which competed with a single car throughout the 1979 season, was able to debut its A3 model starting at the Austrian Grand Prix, the eleventh round of the season. A year filled with retirements, it had to wait until the final race to score its only two points, thanks to Hans-Joachim Stuck's fifth-place finish. It was a grueling race, with only seven of the 24 cars that started crossing the checkered flag. This scale model kit is designed as a curbside model, with the complete bodywork made of resin, accompanied by numerous white metal parts for the rims, cockpit, suspension, gearbox, and other mechanical elements. Added to this is the complete decal sheet and a sheet of photo-etched parts.

This scale model kit is designed as a curbside model, with the complete bodywork made of resin, accompanied by numerous white metal parts for the rims, cockpit, suspension, gearbox, and other mechanical elements. Developed in collaboration with ScaleLab 24, the Kitbox PZY Model kit reference presents a very similar design and conception, although with some small differences in terms of the quality of the materials used in its manufacture and, above all, with the decorations proposed in its various decal sheets. In this case, the options pay homage to the Rothmans versions, the silver Martini ones, or the one used on the Porsche 938/78 Moby Dick. Difficult to choose, right? A scale model kit made of very good quality resin, which is complemented by an extensive sheet of photo-etched parts, and a sheet of pre-painted and pre-cut acetates for the transparent part.

Aside from the official Alitalia livery, one of the best known was the Pirelli livery, with which, among others, Sandro Munari participated in the 1978 Monte Carlo Rally with the number #1 on the doors, although he was unable to repeat his victory from the previous year and was forced to retire. Markku Alén was more successful in the Sanremo Rally of the same year, where he took a great victory with the number #4. This decal set, developed for use on Italeri's 1/12 scale Lancia Stratos model kit, will allow you to choose between either of these two versions.

USCP: Seat 1/24 scale - Recaro LSB seats - 3D printed parts and resin parts - 2 units

USCP Reference: 24A108

Pair of resin seats with a design similar to those of the "eternal" Recaro LSB model, perhaps the most iconic and recognizable in the Recaro range. The main body of the seat is made of resin, but in the box you'll find a whole series of 3D-printed parts to detail the seats. In addition to the headrests, we find different wheels for adjusting the backrest angle or height, and the handle to fold them down and access the rear seats in the 2-door models.

Set of 4 rims designed for use with the Beemax 1/12 scale McLaren Honda MP4/4 scale model kit. In addition to the rims, 9 tire valve stems are included. The rims have been designed as an extra element for mounting the kit's set of tires that are not mounted on the model itself. The Beemax scale model kit of the McLaren Honda MP4/4 includes two sets of tires (wet and dry), allowing you to choose which one to mount... but the other set runs out of tires. A great idea for a small vignette!

It is well known that the first thing every driver has to do before testing any single-seater is make his own seat, and that this seat will rarely be the same as another driver's. For this reason, Fat Frog Models has reproduced a scale model of a seat with the shapes of the one used by Alain Prost so that it could be mounted on the Beemax kit, also including the headrest that was located under the air intake.
