Goodbye 2024

Goodbye 2024
There are only a few days left to say goodbye to this year, and with uncertainty, curiosity and mostly excitement, we stand on our tiptoes and look to the horizon to try to see what the coming year will bring, and above all, what scale modeling surprises it will bring us.

This year we have enjoyed a lot of new products, some of them really coveted and interesting, while we have also celebrated 20 years as a scale modeling shop, which is not a small thing to say :-)

And what can we tell you about 2025? Well, besides the CubiJig for 1/24 scale cars and 1/12 scale motorcycles that you can already reserve, various models by Norev and Solido, the Laverda 1000cc V6 by Brach Model, the interesting book about the Bugatti Type 35b by Komakai or the imminent reedition of the Audi Quattro by Tamiya, we can tell you that something called "ModelMotor" is being finalised... we will give you more details soon. :)

At SpotModel we are going to give the final touches to 2024, and soon it will be time to start sanding and filing 2025... :D

Very special. This is the Laverda 1000cc, an almost hand-made prototype developed to test new solutions applicable to future street Laverdas. This bike was equipped with a large V6 engine that could deliver up to 145 hp, of which only four units were built, plus two of the chassis. The version that can be reproduced with this kit is the one corresponding to the 24 Hours of Bol d'Or in 1978, where it had to be withdrawn due to transmission problems around the eighth hour of the race. As usual in Brach Model products, the list of parts and detailing are spectacular, with great attention to detail that will delight the most demanding modelers.

As is often the case with kits featuring tobacco sponsorship liveries, the decal sheet does not include these logos, but fortunately, we have other manufacturers to help us fill those "gaps". This is the case with the new and long-awaited Beemax kit of the Suzuki RGV500 Gamma XR-79 used by the Suzuki team in 1993, with which Kevin Schwantz achieved his only 500cc World Championship. Thanks to this decal set with all the Lucky Strike logos, you can now complete any version of those used in 1993.

Decalcas: Rims 1/24 scale - Forged aluminium rims for Porsche 911 992 GT3 RS - 3D printed parts - for Tamiya reference TAM24370 - 2 + 2 units

Decalcas Reference: DCL-PAR163

The rims of the Tamiya Porsche 911 GT3 RS kit reproduce the lighter magnesium version, but the car originally comes with beautiful aluminum rims, characterized by a central part of the core around the central nut in the shape of a star. This, and many other details of the rim, such as the recesses of the spokes and the reinforcing ribs have been reproduced with exquisite care by Decalcas, so that the lucky owners of the Tamiya kit have the option of assembling their model with this other type of rims. The rims have been designed to be used with the original tires of the kit, and have different dimensions for those mounted on the front and rear axle. With the usual quality of Decalcas products, and the convenience of not needing to use primer, avoiding the loss of detail of the parts, you will only have to paint and assemble the parts on your scale kit.
