Volvo by Highlight Model Studio
Eero Kumanto had a dream: to recreate a model of the Volvo 240 as it circulates in some places in Finland. The idea came from seeing a Volvo parked in a quiet area of the city. He got to work and designed some photo-etched parts that significantly help improve the appearance of the model. Once the model was assembled, Eero was so satisfied with the result that he decided to share it and give everyone who wanted the opportunity to create a model of a personalized street Volvo. This is how the Highlight Model Studio reference was born to detail and make variants of the Volvo 240 scale models that so many modelers wanted to have.

We all have scale modeling dreams, surely you have yours. Do you want to share them? Would you like them to come true? Manufacturers are eager to listen to the dreams of scale modellers so that maybe, who knows, they can make them come true. Some photo-etched parts? Or some decals? Or some parts? Maybe there's some new tool?

At SpotModel we are convinced that together we can enrich our hobby. Are you in?

Shunko Models: Marking / livery 1/12 scale - Mclaren Honda MP4/4 McLaren Racing Limited Team sponsored by Marlboro #11, 12 - Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna da Silva - Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix 1988 - water slide decals, placement instructions and tobacco sponsor decals - for Meng Model reference RS-004

Shunko Models Reference: SHK-D490

This reference is developed to completely replace the decal sheet of the original kit. According to Shunko Models, Meng's kit is based on the model kept in the Honda Collection Hall, which does not completely match the car that participated in races, with quite a few differences in terms of sponsors logo sizes. And to be even more exact, Shunko has focused on a single race, the Japanese Grand Prix, as it was the decisive race of the championship due to its famous and controversial action between Senna and Prost in the Suzuka chicane. In addition to designing all the logos to the correct size, bright fluorescent red ink has been used to make the decals as faithful as possible to the real vehicle.

These decals include the logos that are not included in the kit, covering only the two races and the two versions of the original kit itself. For this reason, the yellow color of the decals has been adapted to match that of the decals on the kit, which makes this reference very different from the reference SHK-D472, not only because the latter is a set that replaces completely to the decals of the different references of the Tamiya Lotus 72D, also covering up to 10 versions of 5 races from 1972 to 1973, but also by the color used in the decals, being the color of the stripes of the reference SHK-D472 more gold to match Mr. Color's number 9 "gold" color.

Thanks to Marsh Models, you can now reproduce this model, with a high-quality resin kit, which also includes several photo-etched plates and white metal parts.
