Hangover

Hangover
We're already back from our trip to Belgium, from an unforgettable weekend surrounded by many modeling friends and several thousand models. Yes, you have read it right, several THOUSANDS of car, motorcycle and truck models, in all their scales.

It is impossible to tell in just a few lines everything we have seen, enjoyed, talked about, laughed, drunk... so we are going to summarize it all in one word: Awesome!!!

While the trip "hangover" wears off and lets us resume several tons of pending issues, we will do our best to sit at the workbench and think about what builds we will be taking to Jabbeke next year. Because of course, we will be there. :)

Any ideas? Among the novelties that we have around here there are very interesting releases, such as the Decalcas paint masks for the Bugatti Type 35B by Italeri, a good pile of references in 1/43 scale by Arena, or several Studio27 liveries for the BMW Z4 GT3 and the MP4-12C GT3.

Tonight, after dinner, a good Belgian beer sponsored by SpotModel to ease the hangover. :D

Studio27: Detail up set 1/20 scale - Tyrrell Ford P34 sponsored by ELF #3 - Jody Scheckter - Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix 1976 - photo-etched parts, resin parts, rubber parts, seatbelt fabric, turned metal parts, white metal parts and assembly instructions - for Tamiya reference TAM20058

Studio27 Reference: ST27-FP20158

They may look the same, but the two Tyrrell P34s that raced in the 1976 Japanese Grand Prix had significant differences. So many that there are two different transkits, one for number #3 and one for number #4. The main difference from Jody Scheckter's number #3 single seater was its rear wing with "large" side panels, and its entire holding structure. In addition, a whole series of small pieces in resin and white metal, apart from the generous photo-etched plate, to detail the Tamiya kit as much as possible. And one of the most interesting details of such a famous race to win the 1976 title in favor of James Hunt... the wet tires used during the race.

GPmodeling: Engine 1/24 scale - Lancia Stratos - 12 valves - 3D printed parts and water slide decals - for Hasegawa references 20217, 20261, 20268, 20282, 20361, HA20361, 20440, CR-32, 20499, 20561, 20598, 20653, 21215, HC-15, 25032, CR-32, 25036, CR-36, HACR32, HA-CR32, HACR33, 25033, CR-33, HACR36, 25036 and CR-36

GPmodeling Reference: STR12V

What great news the appearance of the 12 and 24 valve engines for the Hasegawa kits of the Lancia Stratos at 1/24 scale! The 24-valve engine was used mainly in the Alitalia versions, from the Sanremo Rally in October 1975 until the end of the 1977 season, and the 12-valve engine in all versions, such as Pirelli's, as of January 1, 1978, since the new technical regulations forced a return to 12 valves. The engines used from 1972 to October 1975 were very similar to the 12-valve transkit, but with a different alternator and battery position. Each of the transkits has more than 50 parts printed in 3D, and includes 3 different types of exhaust outlets, 2 different air boxes, with their intake covers with and without net, and finally two additional brake discs equipped with studs to be able to present the model mounted without wheels. 12-valve engines differ from 24-valves mainly due to the shape of the cylinder head covers, the position of the alternator, and the position of some accessories on the chassis. A specific type of exhaust manifold is supplied on each version (obviously different between 12 and 24 valves). Most of Hasegawa's kits are compatible with these two transkits.
