TS-16 AAW

Since we like Formula 1 cars from the 70s, we love exclusive model kits, and we're good boys, Wolf Kits has just announced for us none other than the TS-16 driven by Leo Kinnunen in the 1974 Swedish Formula 1 Grand Prix. A golden beauty featuring a livery that was quite peculiar for the time. That high air intake, those very 70s curves, the DFV engine with its characteristic cylinder heads, that rear wing you could practically take a nap on, the TV and audio equipment manufacturer's advertising, and that striking color... it all makes it a real gem in 1/20 scale, don't you think?

320i Group 5

Back in March 2021, in newsletter number 463, we mentioned that a 1/24 scale model of the Group 5 BMW 320i E21 Turbo was in the works. Five long years have passed for it to become a reality, but we are finally happy to announce that we have the first units in the SpotModel warehouse!

ModelMotor 2026

Backstage

As in almost every discipline, behind the racing machines lies a truly complex and fascinating subculture: the backstage. This is where mechanics, engineers, transporters, managers, team principals, designers, and other professionals work. It's where support crews and many other elements of the racing world come together.

Incompetence

You know those times when you go into a store asking for something extremely simple, and suddenly you realize that the person serving you doesn't really know what they're doing or isn't very keen? You know right away that things aren't going to be as quick or easy as you thought, right? Well, that's how we felt last Monday! ;-)

Jabbeke 2026

How exciting!! There's still a week to go, but for several days now we've been feeling a certain nervousness because the date is approaching for one of the events that holds a special place in our scale modeler's heart, and which has been a must-attend event for eight years now!!

Tons of news

At the Nuremberg Toy Fair, we were told that Italeri would be reissuing several trucks during 2026, but the big surprise is that they're ALREADY available... Why is it a surprise? Because Italeri's product availability and launch schedules are usually separated in time, sometimes even infinitely... So we were delighted to receive the news, and we can confirm that next week half a dozen reeditions of classic Italeri trucks will be available again on SpotModel shelves. :)

It's been a long, long time since Tameo delighted us with a 1/24 scale model, right? Well, a few weeks ago they announced the release of the Ferrari 312T, a beautiful twelve-cylinder machine with which Lauda won the 1975 Italian F1 Grand Prix, in addition to being crowned World Champion for the first time.
