The year was 1967 and Ford took the victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Sport category with the GT40 Mk IV. The previous year they achieved the famous hat trick with the Mk II, as the competitors could not match the performance of the enormous 7L engine.

We've been saying this for quite some time now, we already sensed it, in fact we understand that it's a logical evolution, and that little by little it will become more and more common. There may still be some insecurity, respect, or reluctance to change our modeling habits, but just as there are scale models made of resin or white metal, in addition to the super-commercial "plastics", why shouldn't be there scale models made of 3D printed resin?

TS-16 AAW

Since we like Formula 1 cars from the 70s, we love exclusive model kits, and we're good boys, Wolf Kits has just announced for us none other than the TS-16 driven by Leo Kinnunen in the 1974 Swedish Formula 1 Grand Prix. A golden beauty featuring a livery that was quite peculiar for the time. That high air intake, those very 70s curves, the DFV engine with its characteristic cylinder heads, that rear wing you could practically take a nap on, the TV and audio equipment manufacturer's advertising, and that striking color... it all makes it a real gem in 1/20 scale, don't you think?

320i Group 5

Back in March 2021, in newsletter number 463, we mentioned that a 1/24 scale model of the Group 5 BMW 320i E21 Turbo was in the works. Five long years have passed for it to become a reality, but we are finally happy to announce that we have the first units in the SpotModel warehouse!

ModelMotor 2026

Our dearest scale modelers, we are pleased to invite you to ModelMotor 2026, organized by SpotModel, which will be held on Saturday May 23rd in Madrid, in a comfortable location where we will enjoy a day of scale model building, building, building, and more building. Well, they'll also be providing food and drinks, but you can skip that part if you want. :) Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to attend, because it's a very special event, especially because of the people you'll meet.

We still have smiles on our faces after enjoying an unforgettable weekend with friends at Jabbeke, with the great family formed by the best civilian vehicle scale modelers from all across Europe.

Backstage

As in almost every discipline, behind the racing machines lies a truly complex and fascinating subculture: the backstage. This is where mechanics, engineers, transporters, managers, team principals, designers, and other professionals work. It's where support crews and many other elements of the racing world come together.

Incompetence

You know those times when you go into a store asking for something extremely simple, and suddenly you realize that the person serving you doesn't really know what they're doing or isn't very keen? You know right away that things aren't going to be as quick or easy as you thought, right? Well, that's how we felt last Monday! ;-)

Jabbeke 2026

How exciting!! There's still a week to go, but for several days now we've been feeling a certain nervousness because the date is approaching for one of the events that holds a special place in our scale modeler's heart, and which has been a must-attend event for eight years now!!
