Completely exploded rims, with all the chrome parts individually; the detailed engine made of white metal, the tires made of retreaded rubber and that in this version have the pre-painted logos, the body molded in a perfectly injected white resin, and some fantastic rubber parts for the frames of the side windows and the different car interior mats. Presented at the Paris Motor Show in November 1963, the first 250 LM did indeed have a 3-litre engine. The model number was just for show… the other 31 units had 3.3-litre engines, so, translated into Ferrari parlance, it really was a 275 LM. The Commendatore did not want to jeopardize the homologation of the new car as a Gran Turismo, and for this reason he decreed that the original name be maintained. In the end, the bureaucracy and stubbornness of the FIA delayed the approval of the application until February 1966, by which time Scaglietti had finished the production series.

The 250 LM, designed by Pinninfarina, was the first mid-engined Ferrari available to customers, with a 12-cylinder engine producing 320 hp, with which the 250 LM could reach 287 km/h. The windshield, side windows and roof were the same as the second series GTO. Just behind the grille were the water and oil radiators and the reservoir for dry sump lubrication. The trunk was at the front, the spare tire behind, and the driving position had been moved forward.

By the end of the 1964 season, the 250 LM had won ten major events. In 1965, Ferrari trusted its customers and, among others, achieved victory at Le Mans, with the unity of the N.A.R.T. (North American Racing Team) with Jochen Rindt and Masten Gregory at the wheel.
